Ace of Spades Dark Form

There are several types of Ace of Spades (AOS), but the dark form is probably the most sought-after one, even amongst the other dark-leaf-type anthuriums. Having said so, not all dark form AOS-es are created equal.

Our mother plant is distinguished by its pitch black emergent leaves that transition from oily sleek to matte velvetness as they expand in size. The high level of pigmentation that this particular plant produces further guarantees that the darkness remains even as the new leaf grows to jungle size. Venation is minimal & stays dark throughout. This plant is vigorous enough to live in ambient conditions, which would usually crisp the leaves of most dark & velvety-type anthuriums.

Pollination hasn't been the easiest for this species, which surely helps in keeping its rarity. The value of this type of AOS may have fluctuated slightly through the years (2020 - present), but thankfully it still manages to stay as one of the top ranked rare-s in the market -- definitely a worthy investment for a serious collector!
